Functional Safety Software Engineer

Role Expectations

The Hardware Functional Safety Engineer holds a pivotal role in ensuring safety throughout hardware development. This encompasses leadership in preparing Development Interface Agreements (DIA) and safety plans, as well as active involvement in safety activities across all phases. The engineer’s expertise extends to overseeing functional safety verification and confirmation reviews of hardware and driving the development of hardware safety requirements and analyses.

The engineer plays a vital part in translating safety standards into tangible hardware solutions, crafting comprehensive Hardware Safety Requirements, and conducting essential Hardware Safety Analyses. Beyond technical proficiency, the role involves fostering a safety-conscious culture by integrating functional safety principles into hardware design processes. Strong client handling skills are crucial. Professional and confident interactions with clients foster robust working relationships, paving the way for seamless project collaboration.

Skills
  • SW Development related to FuSa and all the SWE.1 to SWE6 activities.
  • Static code analysis: test report to be provided by the SOW agency
  • Unit Test coverage: Report to be provided
  • Integration testing: the SOW agency shall provide information about completeness of content incl.
    corresponding SW test on HW.
  • Aptiv acceptance test: Verification test to be performed by Aptiv
Experience Required

Work Experience: 4-6 years of relevant experience

  • SW Engineer with 4-6 years’ experience in embedded SW Development
  • Implementation according ISO26262, FuSa Requirement analysis, Safety goals, SW Development, Critical
    Code review, all required documentation as per the ISO26262.
  • Functional Safety SW Development – previous experience required.
  • AUTOSAR previous experience required.
  • Knowledge of electronics and electronic measurement
  • Strong debugging skills needed (Lauterbach debugger, Renesas E2 debugger)
  • Experience in ASPICE, Unit, Integration testing
  • Git Gerrit
  • Doors/Any other requirements management tool

Skills
  1. Candidate must be able to work without guidance and very good communication.
